As a rule, osteoporosis is diagnosed in the presence of a fracture, which can occur even with minimal trauma, and in some cases due to weight lifting.

Osteoporosis occurs most often in women and people who abuse smoking, drinking, have a sedentary lifestyle and include a lot of meat in their diets.

Osteoporosis treatment

It is necessary to treat osteoporosis in complex with the involvement of specialists from different areas: immunologists, neurologists, endocrinologists, and rheumatologists. The main task of therapy is to stabilize the indicators of bone metabolism. It is also aimed at reducing pain, preventing fractures and expanding motor activity. When treatment is required to take a number of drugs whose action is aimed at suppressing bone resorption:

  • Pamidronate;
  • Ibandronate sodium;
  • Risedronat;
  • Alendronate;
  • Zoledronic acid.

Also requires the use of drugs that will stimulate bone formation. Vitamin D3, calcium and strontium salts, and bioflavonoids are most often found in their composition. Dieting is a must. It should include the use of dairy products, cereals, vegetables, fruits, fish and greens. It is important to understand that it is impossible to cure such an illness completely, you can only slow it down.

Prevention of osteoporosis

It is better not to treat osteoporosis, but to prevent its occurrence. For this you need to take preventive measures.So, first of all, it is necessary to provide the body with a sufficient amount of minerals (calcium is essential) and vitamins. It is desirable that they come from food. This means that you need to include in the diet more cereals, fresh vegetables, berries and fruits. It is also necessary once a year to take drugs that contribute to the formation of bone tissue and constantly maintain an active lifestyle.
