The Upper Iset Court of Yekaterinburg sentenced the 22-year-old videoblogger Ruslan Sokolovsky to 3 years and 6 months conditionally.
The young man was found guilty under three articles of the Criminal Code: art. 14 of the Criminal Code (violation of the right to freedom of religion), Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (incitement to hatred or enmity), Art. 138.1 (illegal circulation of recording devices). "In our realities, the suspended sentence can be equated to acquittal," the defendant’s lawyer quotes uznayvse.ru.

Judge Ekaterina Shoponyak noted that it is wrong to consider Sokolovskiy guilty because of playing Pokemon Go in the temple. According to the verdict, Sokolovsky insulted the believers by doubting one of his videos in the existence of Jesus Christ and Mohammed, and also calling Jesus "a rare pokemon."
Earlier it was reported that the prosecutor's office demanded for Ruslan Sokolovsky 3.5 years in a penal colony. At the same time, the defendant did not admit his guilt. According to Sokolovskiy, he recorded videos for the sake of money and fame.

We remind: Ruslana Sokolovsky was detained in September 2016. The reason for the initiation of the case was a video in which a young man plays in the application of augmented reality Pokemon Go in the Yekaterinburg Temple-on-the-Blood. During the detention at Sokolovsky's home, they found a “spy pen”.
