The choice of thermal insulation for pipes
In Peter moved to live in an already fully finished home renovated. It remains for me only to finish the work with the plumbing in the summer kitchen - it is necessary to bring the water supply system to mind. I want to know what type of insulation is best suited so that the pipes do not freeze in winter?

You can wear ordinary pipes, foam rubber, but it is unlikely that it will save water from freezing, when in St. Petersburg over the past few years the temperatures were -30 degrees! I think that it is better to use it as a heater, something like an energoflex, it looks like this. I myself want to try to heat the pipes at home and check whether there will be condensate.

There are foam, merilon and a bunch of other names. Basil, take a thicker material for insulation and put it on the pipe. Where the entrance to the pipe goes to the kitchen, wrap it with warm material, even with unnecessary rags. So it will be possible to save the plumbing from freezing.

Look on the Internet for polyethylene foam pipes. One unit of this insulation is enough for a lot, material 26 meters in a skein. Polyethylene is moisture resistant, as energy-flex, and better than foam rubber.
