The head of the presidential administration, Sergei Ivanov, said in an interview that Russia recognized the result of elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Moscow, according to Ivanov, wants Ukraine to "enter a normal civilized course." At the same time, Ukraine should become a “non-hostile” state of Russia that “is capable of supporting itself”.
Ivanov stressed that if elections were held in Russia in the same way as in Ukraine, the world community would never have recognized them. “But on Sunday, the elections, of course, will be held in Kiev and will be recognized. This is about standards, ”Ivanov stressed.
At the same time, Sergey Ivanov urged Kiev and the West to recognize the results of the elections in the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics scheduled for November 2, because these self-proclaimed states "must have some elected leaders elected by those people who live in these entities ".
Situation in Ukraine: Separatists promised to repel Slavyansk and MariupolWe will remind, earlier the head of the Donetsk People's Republic, Alexander Zakharchenko, said that the militia are going to attack the Kiev forces and regain control over the entire Donbas, in particular, knocking out the Ukrainian army from Slavyansk, Mariupol and Kramatorsk.
Zakharchenko explained this decision by saying that Kiev does not observe the “regime of silence” operating in the east of Ukraine.
