The head of the presidential administration, Sergei Ivanov, said in an interview that Russia recognized the result of elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Moscow, according to Ivanov, wants Ukraine to "enter a normal civilized course." At the same time, Ukraine should become a “non-hostile” state of Russia that “is capable of supporting itself”.
Ivanov stressed that if elections were held in Russia in the same way as in Ukraine, the world community would never have recognized them. “But on Sunday, the elections, of course, will be held in Kiev and will be recognized. This is about standards, ”Ivanov stressed.

Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian government, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, said that Moscow might try to disrupt the elections to the Ukrainian parliament.
At the same time, Sergey Ivanov urged Kiev and the West to recognize the results of the elections in the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics scheduled for November 2, because these self-proclaimed states "must have some elected leaders elected by those people who live in these entities ".
