Musical comedy "Truffaldino from Bergamo": actors, roles, short plot
In 1977, for the first time, the premiere of the 2-episode comedy film “Truffaldino from Bergamo” took place on Soviet television. Actors Konstantin Raikin and Natalya Gundareva performed the main roles in the film. According to what canons built tape plot? And why did the audience like it so much?
The creators and a short plot of the picture
Vladimir Vorobiev, the main director of the Leningrad Theater of Musical Comedy, became the director and ideological inspirer of the film about the tricks of Truffaldino. Initially Vorobyov planned to put on a television musical and achieved that the music for the picture was written by Alexander Kolker - the author of the hits “Girls Stand” and “Fog”.
In the film “Truffaldino from Bergamo,” the actors appeared in the classic images of the commedia dell'arte. The events take place in Venice of the XVIII century and, of course, the plot revolves around the dramatic relationship between two couples in love.
The roguish Truffaldino makes his acquaintance on the road to Venice with the young gentleman Rasponi and enters his service. After some time, his salary seems to be insufficient for a person from Bergamo; therefore, in parallel, he is hired as a servant to another signor. Trying to please both gentlemen, Truffaldino constantly gets into comic situations. But the most interesting thing begins when the efficient guy from Bergamo begins to learn the secrets of his masters ...
“Truffaldino from Bergamo”: actors and roles. Konstantin Raikin and his hero Truffaldino
Konstantin Raikin, a graduate of the Schukinsky School, began acting in films in 1969. But because of the unusual appearance of Konstantin, they were not often invited to the set. We can say that the first serious work in the cinema for Raikin was exactly the picture “Truffaldino from Bergamo”.
Actors K. Raikin and N. Gundareva in the frame appeared as servants of rich Venetian masters. According to the classics of the genre, between Truffaldino and the efficient Smeraldina there is a liking, and then serious feelings. However, in real life the relationship between the partners on the set did not exist.According to Raikin, the more experienced actress Gundareva looked down on her colleague down.
Conflicts arose in Raikin not only with Natalia Gundareva, but also with director Vladimir Vorobiev. Perhaps because of his particular views on the process of creativity, Konstantin Arkadyevich did not make a loud career in cinema.
But Raikin had everything in the theater field. From 1987 to the present day, he heads the Satirikon Theater, and for some time Konstantin Arkadyevich actively taught at the Moscow Art Theater School.
The film "Truffaldino from Bergamo": actors and roles. Natalia Gundareva as Smeraldins
Natalya Gundareva first became famous in the USSR thanks to the film "Sweet Woman". In Vladimir Fetin's melodrama, the young actress was given the role of poor Anna Dobrokhotova, who “walked over the head,” trying to arrange a free and full life for herself.
In the same year, Gundareva received the role of Smeraldine's servant in the comedy “Truffaldino from Bergamo”. The film’s actors were mostly operetta artists, so they performed the vocals themselves. Yelena Driatskaya performed vocal performances for Gundareva.
Subsequently, Natalya Gunaderva played not one bright role in the cinema: Valeria in the melodrama “Vacation in September”, Nina in the “Autumn Marathon”, modemist Juju in the tragicomedy “About the poor hussar say the word”. But the image of Smeraldins from the musical comedy of Vladimir Vorobyov still remains one of the best in the career of an artist.
