Creating a bootable ubuntu for beginners
It is encouraging to note that free softwarethe security becomes more and more popular in our country. Who else five years ago could have thought that today a considerable part of some technically savvy population would prefer to use Ubuntu OS for daily work. However, its creators actively develop and consolidate their success, constantly adding to their offspring all new opportunities.
But what about those who want to be able toalways work in your favorite system, because the laptop is not always with you? It's simple: you can create a bootable USB flash drive ubuntu, which you can always carry with you everywhere. Fortunately, that the boot from USB-carriers to date is supported by most computer hardware.
But the beginners are quite reasonableuncertainty in their abilities, especially if they did not have to deal with anything like that yet. In fact, there is nothing special about the creation of such a flash drive. Let's look at the simplest way to write ubuntu on a USB flash drive.
So. The first thing we need is the original image of Ubuntu. It is strongly recommended to download it from the official website of the company, without using any third-party sources. Especially not advised to use the so-called "assemblies" in which their creators can include malware.
Downloading the image (in ISO format), we will start creating the bootable USB flash drive ubuntu. First, we'll look at this process directly from under Ubuntu itself with the Unity working environment.
To do this, enter "createboot disk ". The system itself will find a suitable application called "usb-creator". After running it, you will need to specify the folder where the image you downloaded is located, and also mark the necessary amount of space on the flash drive that the system will use to save the settings and documents. If you have only the task of installing the system on a new computer, then you do not need to do this either.
Click on the button "create a boot disk" and wait ... After some time, the system will notify you that the creation of the bootable ubuntu was completed.
If you have an OS at your disposalWindows, then you have to download one small and useful program called Unetbootin. Download it is also preferably from the official site. The program is extremely simple and does not require installation. After launching it, you will also need to specify the path to the previously downloaded image with the system, select the flash drive on which you plan to install the system in the drop-down list, and then click on the "OK" button. Before starting, you need to select the necessary amount of free space to store personal information.
Well, if you do not have a flash drive, but there isCD? Well, it's even better! After all, no one canceled the creation of the ubuntu boot disk! In Ubuntu itself, you need to use the simplest Brasero program to burn the disc, whereas in Windows you can apply any program that you use (Nero, UltraISO). We recommend choosing the slowest speed when writing a disc.
